Riley, 6 weeks after surgery

It was 6 weeks since Riley’s fall/attempt to fly, yesterday. She and I are still staying at my mom’s one-story home until the vet is confident that Riley can handle the trek to the 3rd floor of the apartment that Corey and I live in. She’s still on antibiotics, just to be safe, and an anti-inflammatory medication.

For the most part, Riley is doing incredibly well. She is bright, happy, playful, and acts like her normal self. She doesn’t want to walk on her front leg, although she’ll put weight on it (and has been digging a hole to China in the backyard, using both paws). As long as the plate in her hind leg holds, I don’t think that hobbling around on 3 legs is much of a problem. We’ll do a complete set of X-rays once she’s between 10-12 weeks after surgery.

Oh, and I’m also happy to report that Riley has resumed her regular sleeping habits.
